The Fern Holland Spirit Award is presented to an individual who embodies TU Law alumna Fern Holland’s spirit through advocacy work for human rights. All members of Women’s Law Caucus were invited to vote on the nominated individuals.

The winner this year is Tami Knorr who was nominated by Professor Elizabeth McCormick.

Knorr was chosen because of her outstanding commitment to representing vulnerable individuals. She has worked at the University of Tulsa College of Law Legal Clinic and with the Catholic Charities of Tulsa, where she has represented hundreds of immigrants, a vast number of whom are women seeking relief from domestic violence situations. Her selfless dedication to such a difficult line of work illustrates her extraordinary empathy and commitment to helping others. For those reasons, Women’s Law Caucus presented the 2017 Fern Holland Spirit Award to Tami Knorr.
