Professor J. Diana Hall teaches Regulation of Energy Markets. Her practice of energy law spanned 23 years prior to her teaching. She advised government agencies that perform energy regulatory functions, including the Oklahoma Corporation Commission and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Much of her early practice was devoted to regulated rate proceedings before state and federal agencies. She also monitored energy-related legislative matters arising at both the state and federal levels.
Professor Hall advised businesses engaged in oil and natural gas production, processing and transmission, ethanol production, and telecommunications and their associated labor and employee relations issues. Part of her practice concerned energy company mergers and acquisitions. Hall also managed litigation involving commercial disputes among energy companies, including business and environmental torts, and defended energy companies against regulatory agency enforcement actions. Her role for one Fortune 500 parent company and its affiliates was the development and monitoring of a business ethics programs, corporate governance, and compliance efforts. She holds a BS from Northwestern University, an MS from Loyola University, New Orleans, an MS from Northwestern University, and a JD from The University of Tulsa College of Law.
