First-year law students volunteer at Catholic Charities

Kaylind Baker, Mary Brown and Anastasia Fletcher were among the first-year law students helping at Catholic Charities as part of a weeklong introduction to The University of Tulsa Law School.

First-year students at The University of Tulsa College of Law were recently featured in an article in Tulsa Legal and Business News for performing volunteer work at Catholic Charities. They cleaned apartments, sorted clothes and gardened as a part of a day focusing on the importance of public service as a part of a legal career.

The motto on the volunteers’ t-shirts – “COMMIT to Justice and Humanity,” – is not only a statement regarding the day of giving back, but a lifelong pursuit for a number of the law students as many plan to go into careers of social justice and public interest.
