caroline-guerra-thumb“My scholarship has made a huge difference in my law school experience and will continue to benefit me long after graduation. Having a scholarship made it possible for me to focus solely on my studies these three years, instead of constantly trying to balance class with outside work. I have been able to take advantage of fabulous (unpaid) internship and externship opportunities, including a summer internship with The Honorable John Dowdell, United States District Judge for the Northern District of Oklahoma, that turned into a post-graduation clerkship. The freedom that this scholarship has afforded me is invaluable and will continue on.  I know I can take my career in whatever direction I wish, without feeling trapped by debt.”

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my law school experience at The University of Tulsa. My favorite class thus far has to be my Trial Skills Class, taught by Professor Shena Burgess. In this class, I was taught how to act and think like a lawyer through mock trials. The feedback was very beneficial and even helped land me a position on the AAJ Trial team for the university. Without my scholarship from the generous donors, I would have missed out on this great opportunity to learn, grow, and network with my classmates and other members of the legal community, and represent TU. I am so appreciative of the contributions of the donors to help me achieve my lifelong dream.”

However, it would not have been possible for me to attend TU without the valuable scholarships I have received along the way. A scholarship can make the biggest difference in students’ lives. Scholarship donations not only help students attend law school, they help relieve financial stressors outside of school and in turn help students to fully invest themselves in their educational experience. For instance, I would not have been able to work as the Editor-in-Chief of the Energy Law Journal without the financial support I have received though scholarships.”
